LIGHTING TECHNICIAN
The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey seeks an experienced Lighting Technician for our 2018 season. Basic proficiency in Vectorworks, Microsoft Office, and Lightwright is expected. Must also be experienced in many types of lighting equipment, including conventional lighting, scrollers, moving lights, atmospheric effects, and control consoles (specifically ETC’s EOS line). Experience working with sound equipment, especially QLab playback systems and Yamaha digital consoles, is a plus. Must be comfortable working at heights around 25 feet and able to safely lift 50 lbs. The ability to stay focused through long work hours, communicate well, follow directions precisely, and manage multiple projects at one time while keeping a positive attitude are absolute musts. Duties include: enforcing all department guidelines to ensure a safe and efficient work environment; attending all hang, focus, and work calls; assisting in supervision and training of overhire, intern, and volunteer crews; operating the light board for rehearsals, performances, and special events; organization and maintenance of lighting equipment and storage areas; creation and maintenance of all show paperwork; and assisting in the sound department as needed. Must possess a valid driver’s license and have a clean driving record. Ideal candidate is a self-motivated, safety conscious team player with a degree in Lighting or Theatrical Production, or equivalent professional experience. SOUND TECHNICIAN
The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey seeks an experienced Sound Technician for our 2018 season. Basic proficiency in Vectorworks, Microsoft Office, QLab, and audio editing software (Cubase or ProTools recommended) is expected. Must be proficient with Yamaha digital audio consoles, as well as a variety of analog and digital audio equipment. Experience working with lighting equipment, especially ETC lighting consoles, is a plus. Must be comfortable working at heights around 25 feet and able to safely lift 50 lbs. SCENIC CHARGE ARTIST
The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey is seeking applicants for the position of Scenic Charge Artist for our 2018 season. Applicants must have an extensive knowledge of scenic painting techniques and surface treatments including carving, texturing, ageing, and distressing. Scenic Charge is responsible for all paint and scenic treatments, supervising additional staff of professionals and interns, maintaining the safety, order, and cleanliness of all paint areas, and instructing stage management and running crew in the proper care and maintenance of finished surfaces. Must be willing to work some nights and evenings. Ideal candidate is a self-motivated, safety conscious team player with at least two years relevant professioanl experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. CARPENTERS
The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey seeks experienced scenic carpenters for our 2018 season. Must have experience with various construction techniques and materials. Must have strong woodworking, welding, and rigging skills and be able to read construction plans. Applicants should also be capable of lifting 75 lbs. and comfortable working at heights around 25 feet. Experience in electrics, painting, sewing, and pneumatic systems a plus. Ideal candidate is a self-motivated, safety conscious team player with a degree in Technical Theatre and at least two years professional experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. DRAPER/PATTERN MAKER
The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey, producing a six-show season of mostly classics, seeks an experienced, full-time Draper to start in January 2018. Must be skilled in costume construction including: cutting, stitching, fabric dyeing, crafts, draping, pattern making, and sketch interpretation. Must have experience with industrial machines. Responsibilities include: supervising shop staff by preparing and delegating work to first hand, stitchers, and interns, overseeing the construction and alteration of costumes on a scheduled deadline, fabricating and correcting patterns for specific performers, coordinating schedules and fittings with the shop supervisor, fitting the costumes to the performers, and maintaining the intergrity of the costume design. Must have excellent personal time management skills and the ability to schedule others effectively. Desired candidate needs a strong knowledge of costume history. Millinery, tailoring, and dancewear skills a plus. Position is a full-time, year-round position. Ideal candidate has a degree in technical theatre and at least five years of professional experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

HOUSE MANAGER AND ASSISTANT BOX OFFICE MANAGER
The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey is seeking a House Manager and Assistant Box Office Manager for our 2018 season. Seeking individuals who possess exemplary customer service skills, are efficient problem solvers, have the dedication and ability to balance multiple projects, and are comfortable leading a team of associates. This position requires confidence in communication with patrons, accessing and providing for a variety of needs. An ideal candidate will have experience in ticket management software, volunteer relations, prior house management experience, and knowledge or interest in learning ADA compliance guidelines. Duties include oversight of all front of house operations, coordination and recruitment of essential volunteer base, maintenance and inventory of the gift shop and concessions, continual training and guidance of associates, and management of Box Office operations in the absense of the Box Office Manager. This position is seasonal (May to December), with potential opportunity for extension.

PATRON SERVICES ASSOCIATE
The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey is seeking personable and enthusiastic Patron Services Associates for the 2018 season. The Patron Services Associate is the face of The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey. The associate will be responsible for ensuring an exceptional front of house experience for our diverse and growing patron base. Building relationships with longtime patrons and engaging new patrons, associates will assist patrons with their needs ranging from picking out seats to helping them find their way to the theatre.We are looking for individuals with a background in sales/customer service who are excellent speakers, friendly, and patient, both in person and over the phone. Ideal candidates will have office experience and experience with ticketing software. Experience with our ticketing software, Theatre Manager, is a plus. Daytime, evening, and weekend hours are required. Duties include: fielding calls, assisting patrons with sales, exchanges and general inquiries, managing patron correspondences with the Box Office, cross-selling and upselling productions, making follow-up calls, assembling mailings (tickets, postcards, donation packages), pulling basic reports, helping with maintenance and inventory of the gift shop and concessions, and providing general support to the Box Office Manager and Assistant Managers. This position is part-time, hourly.

Summer Professional Training Program
The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey, one of the leading Shakespeare Theatres in the nation, is currently taking applications for its 2018 Summer Professional Training Program, currently named one of the Best Summer Theatre Internships by Backstage Magazine.
