P/T Building Inspector/Asst. Property Maintenance Code Enforcement Officer
The Township of Denville is currently seeking a qualified individual to serve part-time as the Building Inspector and Assistant Property Maintenance Code Enforcement Officer in the Township’s Construction Department. Ideally, the candidate shall be available Monday to Friday for an estimated five (5) hours per day.
Salary: $25.00 per hour
General Job Duties:
Assist Construction Code Official in performing building plan reviews and site inspections to ensure compliance with applicable codes;
Assist Construction Code Official to identify serious property maintenance complaints and/or perform reviews of property maintenance code complaints and respond appropriately in accordance with the newly adopted ICC 2012 International Property Maintenance Code;
Maintain orderly records and ensure all paperwork is completed in a timely manner;Be able to effectively and courteously interact with contractors and residents both in person and on the telephone to answer their questions and address their concerns;
Perform other duties as assigned or as required.
Minimum Job Requirements:
Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Must possess a valid NJ DCA –Building Inspector-ICS License or higher, and a valid driver’s license. Multiple Uniform Construction Code (UCC) licenses a plus.
Familiarity with the ICC 2012 International Property Maintenance Code a plus.

The Township of Denville is currently seeking individuals to serve as part-time weekend workers at the Department of Public Works.
Salary: $8.60/ hour
Hours: Saturday 8:00am – 2:30pm and Sunday 10:00am – 2:30pm
General Job Duties:
Perform manual labor in the recycle center with handling residents recycling;
Be able to interact with fellow employees, management and members of the public in a polite, courteous and professional manner; and
Perform other duties as assigned or required.

SEASONAL P/T WEEKEND LABORER
The Township of Denville is currently seeking a qualified individual to serve as a seasonal part-time weekend laborer in the Denville Department of Public Works.
Salary: $10.25/hour
General Job Duties:
The position is responsible to water and maintain all of the planters and hanging flower baskets in the downtown Denville area on Saturdays, Sundays and other days in which the DPW offices are closed;
Perform general maintenance and upkeep of the trees, flowers, planters and landscaping enhancements in the downtown area to ensure the downtown is beautifully maintained to include, but not be limited to, pulling weeds, picking up garbage, replenishing mulch, trimming branches on trees, etc.;
The individual must be able to interact with fellow employees, management and members of the public in a polite, courteous and professional manner; and
Perform other duties as assigned or required
Minimum Job Requirements:
Must possess a valid New Jersey Driver’s License; and
Must be available to work between the hours of 7:00 AM to 12:00 P.M., Saturday and Sunday between the months of June and September.
