Winter Weather Advisory in Effect – Driving Tips / No Parking on Snow Covered Roads / Clear Sidewalks
The season’s first winter storm is expected to bring several inches of snow to the area this afternoon and evening, in addition to freezing rain and sleet. As such, we would like to remind everyone to drive extra cautious if you need to travel during the storm. Remember to drive at a slower/safe speed, give yourself extra distance between vehicles, and expect your stopping distance to increase. Also, know whether your vehicle has an antilock brake system and use it properly. Antilock brake systems prevent your wheels from locking up during braking. If you have antilock brakes, apply firm, continuous pressure to the brake pedal. If you don’t have antilock brakes, you may need to pump your brakes if you feel your wheels starting to lock up.
We would also like to remind everyone that Township Ordinance prohibits parking on a snow covered street. This is to allow the Department of Public Works to more easily remove any accumulated snow and ice to make our roadways safer to travel. Due to the forecasted weather, permission for overnight on street parking this evening will not be granted.
Township Ordinance also requires the owner or tenant of properties to remove all snow and ice from the full width and length of all sidewalks abutting the roadway within 12 hours of daylight after the storm. The depositing snow or ice into or upon any sidewalk or street in the Township is also prohibited.
Thank you for your cooperation and please drive safely today and everyday!

Denville Township Animal Control operates under the supervision of the Denville Township Police Department’s Support Services Division. Denville Township Animal Control Officer Meredith Petrillo provides animal control, animal cruelty, and animal rescue services to the Township. ACO Petrillo also runs the Denville Animal Shelter and oversees the operation of the Denville Township Dog Park, known as “The Happy Hound Play Ground”.
Denville Township provides shelter for misplaced domestic animals. If you have lost or found an animal, we provide a safe place for that animal until we find their owner. If no one comes forward for the animal after seven days, the Township of Denville places the animal up for adoption by appointment. We do not charge an adoption fee; however, we do ask for a donation of food and supplies back to the shelter so the animals that are there for longer periods of time can be provided for. The animal shelter is open to the public from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Monday through Saturday. If you have lost your pet, please contact the police desk at 973-627-4900 ext. 9, as they are aware of all of the animals that are placed in the shelter. Reclaiming your pet may be done by appointment only during the following hours:
Monday to Friday, between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.
Saturday, between 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
Closed on Sunday
Animal Cruelty – Denville Township’s Animal Control Officer is also an animal cruelty investigator. If you have a concern about how an animal is being cared for or treated, please contact the Denville Police Department and provide as much information as possible. Also, please provide a call-back phone number so that we can follow up with you. You do not have to give your name.

It is with very heavy heart we say not only good bye; but, thank you, to Disney Legend Stan Lee.
Stanley Martin Lieber December 28, 1922 – November 12, 2018
My generation grew up with the Marvel Comics that grew with us into movies, books and TV shows. We were there from the comic to the birth of the media franchise. We have lost a part of our identity with Stan Lee’s passing.
Then with the merging of Disney; it was the perfect marriage of industries. Even Stan Lee agreed:
“Add Disney to Marvel, then you have a company no one can beat.” ―Stan Lee
Stan Lee was an American comic book writer, editor, publisher, media producer, television host, actor, and former president and chairman of Marvel Comics.
Stan Lee’s cameos in his films dates back to the early 1940s. Some brilliant person compiled his cameos in this YouTube video. Thank you for doing this SuperHeroesEvolution
Apparently, it is a type of weasel. They are agile climbers and hunters.
I found a clip of the sound they make. I have heard these sounds walking my dog early in the morning; but I assumed it was fox. Now, no way of knowing.
